Equipment Supplied 

All rentals include board, paddle, leg leash or seat, and life jacket (PFD) with attached whistle. Inquire about additional PFDs for small children riding with adults.

General Policies

• Renters must be at least 18 years old
• Individuals named on the contract must be present at the time of pickup
• NC State law: Children under 13 years of age are required to wear a lifejacket at all times

    
  

Locations

We meet you with all necessary equipment at Lake Chatuge. Location is dependent on paddling skills, wind direction and type of adventure requested. Exact location will be discussed during your reservation.

Be aware that cell service (along with maps for navigation) can be intermittent or even non-existent in the mountains. Google offers Offline Maps, which can be downloaded before your trip, an awesome workaround for finding your destination.

Setup Procedures 

Please arrive 15 - 20 minutes before your reservation. Our staff will be available to assist in your setup.

Cancellation / Change Policy

Reservations must be cancelled in writing by email at Reserve@ChatugePaddle.com

• Cancellations made with 10 days or more notice are subject to a 10% cancellation fee with all other monies being refunded.
• Cancellations with 9 days or less notice are not eligible for a refund.
• Change requests on reservations will be considered with 10 days or more notice, but availability is not guaranteed. Changes are subject to a 10% office fee. This includes date changes and deleting paddlers from the original booking. 
• Changes within the 9 day window of the reservation will not be accepted. 

No-shows, and paddlers who do not arrive in time for their scheduled departure are not eligible for a refund.

We still paddle if it's cold, light rain, or cloudy, but will not launch in unsafe weather conditions. If the decision is made to cancel, our company will notify participants via email and/or phone. Paddlers will be given the opportunity to reschedule.

Right of Refusal

We reserve the right to decline any person as a participant if the person’s behavior, health or mental condition impedes the safe operation of a boat.
